The article above about Modi's meal seems to be not simple, rather it is complicated art by high rated and high paid cooks. It is obvious - he is PM - should have higher than ordinary dal, roti and sabji variety.

Poor English

The first line reads:

Executive Chef Sandeep Basrur of the Amber India Restaurant in San Jose was involved in "creating the meals" for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stay in California.

Creating the meals? Seriously !

You are right. The word should have been "preparing" instead of creating. There is another sinister remark which should be avoided. In India we have the habit of saying "pure veg". Does this indicate that eating non veg constitutes impurity? People use wrong phrases in English always. The correct term should be "total or completely veg" not pure veg.

by Parthasarathy Krishna on Oct 12, 2015 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

It's nothing surprising as most Indians eat this and less than this. But the poor constitute 79% n more don't get it the basic dal roti chawal. Modi is flying high n round n talking all good bashans.. But nothing is being done for the poor n down trodden. Bank account n insurance n gas subsidy all ok for certain section!! Time he opens up to reality !!
