Ganghi - the father of Nation
by B B Sharma on Oct 01, 2017 12:23 PM

On Ganghi ji`s birth anniversary , my thought turn to how far away we have come from what he lived & died for. With every passing decade , we seem to be moving further & further away from all that wisdom he bequeathed us : religious tolerance , austerity & cleanliness in our daily lives, honesty & an unshakable belief in power of truth.
Non - Violence & secularism are the mantras our political parties mouth at the drop of hat but even cursory glance at the day`s newspapers will tell how little they practised in individual lives.
A nation that seeks to forget , or worse belittle , its leaders can not possibly hope to get respected & recognised from others .
Seventy years later , we are cheerfully debunking all those great patriots & towering leaders who once mesmerised the world & who were source of our national pride & who had forged an inclusive political community across the land by instilling in us virtues of civil to - gatherness.

Your answer about his participation in war has typographical error.it should read 1889 instead of 1989.
