Why not just type the reading in the smartphone app
by arun on Mar 06, 2015 12:30 PM

What is do not understand is, why do you need a bluetooth device to transfer the reading to smartphone app. You can just enter the reading manually by yourself in the app.Not sure if am missing something on this.

If you regularly live a discipline life, eating, sleeping, exercise regularly you cannot get diabetes. Never take stress or carry your workload home you will remain free from diabetes. Be happy with what you have achieved at work or in life do not try and achieve more than your capabilities and avoid sitting in front of TV for long.

Wrong! Diabetes, can still affect you, if you have poor genes. Nothing can be done about it.

The exact cause for Diabetes is NOT known.

But the measures you suggested are good for delaying or controlling diabetes..

Diabetes lazy people disease
by ganesh pillai on Mar 03, 2015 11:50 AM  | Hide replies

I think diabetes for the most part (with exception of genetic) is due to being lazy and eating all kind of sweets and fatty food and fried food.

I don't understand the simple logic, when you are not physically exerting yourself, how you expect your body to work properly without burning calories and sugars down>

For the most part, doctors also don't seem interested in advocating this logic.

My parents are in their 60s and doing well.

Doctors are more interested in treating you with medicines sometimes this or that,so that they can keep milking you till you drop. Moreover patients do not want to exercise and will want medicines to take care of them.
I fully agree with you regarding exercise.

If diabetes is a lazy people's disease as you so suggest how come Wasim Akram is diabetic? Please do you research before making any comment.

Read my comment properly "for the most part". This does not need any research. When you says lifestyle disease, it means living style is not proper, change it

What Ganesh Pillai is talking about is Type 2 diabetes and not Type 1 diabetes. Wasim Akram has Type 1 diabetes and it is not related to genes or lifestyle. It can happen to anyone.

The incidence of Type 1 diabetes is low compared to type 2 diabetes and scientists are still finding the exact reason behind Type1. In type 2 diabetes insulin is not generated sufficiently by pancreas or insulin management is not happening properly. In type 1 diabetes the pancreas completely stops producing insulin hence the person has to depend on insulin injections to control blood sugar. Type 1 generally happens to very young people say small children, very young adults. This people have to take injections throughout their lifetime. Still scientists are finding the real cause as to why type 1 diabetes happen i.e. why pancreas stops producing insulin. Type 1 is not genetic. Type 2 can be genetic as well as because of unhealthy lifestyle i.e. poor diet and lack of exercise. Generally it strikes in old age but nowadays many young people also get affected by it because of sedentary lifestyle.

though the innovation sounds interesting but it needs a glucometer, a smart phone as somebody has already said and of all a doctor to be always ready to advise you accordingly. Do we have such luxury in India.Yet another gadget to say the least..
