income tax department employees most of them are not functioning properly. they don't give clear explanation on queries. Rs. 10,000/- per annum interest is not a big amount for middle class people hard earned money deposit. monthly Rs. 850/- max. at present rates it not sufficient for the daily milk expenditure in four member family. it need to be reviewed.

Salaried Class
by Venkatesh Sekhar on Jul 02, 2015 07:54 AM  | Hide replies

Salaried Class in India are the worst hit people. They have to work for full month and then salary is paid at the end of the month and that too after deducting full tax from the income, sometimes more also and company would force you to claim refund from IT dept.

Best way to expose the Corrupt Govt employees is to some honest person should join IT Dept (The Hawk eye) and collect all details and expose these corrupt officials with all their income and disproportionate spending. (Like Wikileaks).

Hope there is a Assanage in India too.

See the I T rules are already in place, but the application of the rules vary from person to person and the person who implements the rules. Depending on their bosses, the ITO interprets the rules and tax is demanded/charged from the entity whose account is scrutinised.

IT department has hawk eye on every incomes as per your article. However please note that the hawk-eye is only for honest salaried employees, not for the dishonest businessmen or the corrupt govt. officials or even the dishonest politicians. Shame on the systems in our country!

Fully agree. IT charges tax for every paisa earned by Salaried class whereas agricultural income made by rich farmers is fully exempted. We pay sales tax, service tax, VAT etc. etc. - what do we get in return as honest taxpayers ? Our money is spent on subsidising losses due to huge corruption and bureaucratic inefficiency at all governmental levels. Interestingly, politicians and govt. officials are the most beneficiary of this system since their taxable salary remains modest and all the fringe benefits and parks - bungalows, cars, fuel, servants continue to be non-taxable. In other words, we the salaried class is supporting a whole bunch of people, including the rich and powerful ones who are simple free-riding on the system.

This scenario is due to poor representation of tax paying community in any form of political forum. There is a union for factory employers and auto & taxi drivers others low salaried people. But they are not tax payers. We earn and pay for the well being of the whole community, but no one bothers about us.

All farmers and planters have several unions and representatives line UPASI etc., to raise their voice. Is there anything for the big tax contributor to the Govt of India.

This is because we are learned, we do not easily agree with other's view and we always like to speak in contradiction to what the other says and we always try to show off individual's supremacy and we also like to borrow someone's idea as ours!

Because we belong to this community we deserve this treatment!!
