The article is truly appreciable, there is one caveat. These are literally recognized in professionally managed companies maintaining competitive neutrality for conducive work environment. In India the private organizations, even if some of them boast of being a very reputed, most admired, employer friendly, complying with highest level of ethics, etc. the performance and attitude are not the all. In order to grow up the corporate echelon, various kinds of settings are required. You are free to interpret the word "settings". Bias, discrimination, exploitation, repression, oppression, intimidation are the tools frequently used during the performance appraisal. Oligarchy and Coterie are the most common phenomena observed in the corporate world. The congruence and convergence of goal & objectives between the top leadership and the organization are very rare, though there is plethora of display of statements like Quality Policy, Vision, Mission, Values, Corporate sustainability etc. and what not.
Strategy is the word used in every context and it has lost its glitter. The financial crunch, economic recess, sluggish demand, competitive pressure on price, undercut of operational margin, depreciation of rupee, NPA, restructuring of leverage, preemptive steps to neutralize the competition, bullish client, statutory compliances etc. are the phrases used to justify the deprivation of benefits due to employees outside the coterie. Corporate world of India carries evils of

motivate employees and take more

We see more disappointed people than satisfied in corporates. People are frustrated with long hours of work, corporate politics, scolding and screaming. A word of appreciation from boss always motivate the people to be more productive. 'like it or not, you do it; approach should be changed. Why should a person do a job which he doesn't like? An approach which is benefitted to both employer and employee is very much required for a healthy work environment.

Agree with Sunil. Today fear of loosing job is being used by Bosses to keep people working for longer hours with less appreciation and pay. You ask for pay hike & prmotion, then there comes recession , project loss, Client dissatisfaction, client delight factor missing, etc etc . So with a management lesson perspective, the wordings look good but applicable more in abroad countries , off course not in India. India has very bad practise of inducing fear to control associates and community based hiring by peers to retain their position.

Good points but doesn't work in India

All these things are good points and disciplined to be followed at work by anybody which will make the working environment better, but today's working place is not so good or the Management and Bosses are not the ones who respects and acknowledges good things. Today the Bosses only recognises those workmen who slog for hours, has showmanship and brings business to the Company. Today all that matters is money. Those were good old days when Management and HR used to recognize people's hard work and honesty and the same was awarded too.

Stand at work

Though Mr.Kapoor is a good person at his work but his article is too general in nature, everybody knows about punctuality at work etc. and they practice it. Here he misses the actual condition of offices and like other places to work. The conditions are quite different now a days, like stealing of others efforts, spying and back biting are the main problem and I think not any management Guru can tell you how to coup up thease things.
