of course einstein matters, but a lot of them do..however books probably wouldn't sell as much if they were based on euler, maxwell or tesla for instance..i just had to include them last two names from the top of my mind since speaking on innovation its hard to exclude these folks..

Why not Aryabhatta, Bhaskaracharya, Brahmagupta then?

India gave Mathematics, Astronomy, Science etc. etc. to the World. Vishwamitra even went to the extent of creating a Parallel Universe. & they were ages before.

Why don't these names come to your mind instantly?

I have read the biography of EINSTEIN's and wondered very unsuccessfully how he proposed his theory of general relativity. I say this because unlike Newton another great genius, Einstein could not physically see the phenomena for him to propound his theory. All was from imagination and there is no second person who can reach his heights. Steven Hawkings comes close but he also falls short. . There is no mechanism by which we can decipher the secrets of this phenomenon called Albert Einstein.

Tue. Einstein used to imagine the theories! He has explained that he never asked a question "why" but always tried to figure out "how" it could happen or be done. Normally all humans spend too much time & energy in Why who where when etc.Fundamentally different thought process.
