As somebody mentioned below, the author is completely biased to north India.There are many exotic places in South India too apart from beaches.

Western ghats and its foot hill areas have all d ingredients mentioned in places above except for snow.

Amazing mountains of western ghats,
grand, old and beautiful temples,
Beaches,
Rivers,
Adventure(trekking, off/on road bike rides, river rafting, para gliding, forest resorts and wat not :)
