Hello Divya,

A great and nobel thought..please convert this thought into reality and trust me you will not be disappointed..it's a great feeling..you have got only one life and if you adopt, I think you would be one among few good people on the earth..We Indians should come out of old mindsets and try to change with the chaning world...best of luck

Adoption

Well, Adoption is a totally personal thing but needs a lot of social acceptance. Eg. I wanted to adopt a second child after our first biological one, so that I could give quality life to a kid who was otherwise denied it. But my husband could not bring himself to thinking about it, nor would I be assured of love for the child from my in-laws as I live in a joint family. So I eventually I may be making it worse for the kid by giving hopes of something I cannot give, and we dropped the subject. I continue to have only one kid but still think about adoption...

its a good decision to adopt a child . Given birth to a child is not so important as to upbring a child, therefore it is a very good decision to adpot n upbring a child.

Dear Divya,
Your thinking is very noble. Please note you can adopt after 5 years of marriage as per the Hindu Adoption Act. Now there is a shortage babies in the country available for adoption. it takes nearly 2 years for the complete legal procedure. You could go through www.sudatta.org. a website of adoptive parents association of Karnataka.

Dear Divya
You cant even imagine how clear and wonderful your thought process is.Every thing you say is true.
Only drawback(if you think so i do not)The effort you make with adopted children is probably much more as the choice made is completely yours and in doing so yes there is a tendency to spoil them.
As far as the family and friends are concerned who oppose this believe me they will pamper the child much more than you can imagine.
Do not even think take the plunge time is a perishable commodity.
