I think you need to save money
by kumar on Jan 09, 2015 11:12 PM

World is running at a faster pace and I believe Layoffs are going to be very common in india. Only question is does indians have right set of mentality to overcome these layoffs. I believe the following will help

1) Don;t go for company loyalty all the time. You think from yourself on what is best for you. if the company says you are the best person happened to them, listen and don;t trust them. You are CEO of your career

2) Make money and also save Money. Never ever compare yourself with others or other families. I saw lot of my friends got tangled up and now are feeling very bad as they don;t have savings

3) Invest for your future

4) Always be close to your famly (parents, brothers, sisters, in laws and relatives). This is very very important especially when you need emotional support

5) Look for a field where you enjoy the most and don;t look for fields where you get more money initially

6) Never ever think that you are safe in the industry. Because the competition is too much..

7) Don;t change yourself just because you are making good money. Friends and parents are permanent.

8) Enjoy your life within limits as life is very precious.

Life is nothing without problems

Life is meant to be fight till the end. Obstacles will come, you have to overcome them.

It may seem impossible but slowly it will become possible (I gone through it)

Make the best of your life, don't fall prey to addiction, pray and eat healthy, nurture your mind and you will never fail.

layoffs have become common but what is not common
by bhaskara rao on Jan 09, 2015 03:30 AM

Employers need to fire employees by giving compensation.
In western world,There are certain rules that how an employee should be compensated but where in india, it is not. The same multinational IT companies take this an advantage and follow different rules in india compared to other countries where it has operations. So
our labour ministry should formulate rules.

Layoffs are just common
by brian crasto on Jan 08, 2015 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

Inspite of labour laws the management just sacks people without any notice. At least 3 months pay should be given so that he can look for another job. In stock broking it is quite common. Indiabulls, religare, cd equity, motilal oswal, etc are laying off staff on regular basis. No doubt people are not interested in working for indian employers. They just want to go abroad. Even in gulf labour laws are followed.

The thing you said about Indians eying for foreign jobs is true to the hilt. These Baniyas will never improve. They want everything but want to give nothing in return i.e. want FOC.
