Be the average guy
by N Ahuja on Apr 03, 2015 03:37 PM

The article is good and useful for the young people who are either working as executives or are searching for jobs. I would like to add a few points;
Being topper or vey intelligent and analytical and logical does not mean that one is not good. These qualities are definitely very useful and being average does not also mean that all sucessful people have been avarage. But, arrogance is bad.
Be '' Passionate '' about the job you do.
Keep in mind that''Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely''.
Respect your elders and seniors in the workplace. They bring patience, maturity and lot of wisdom with them.
Have empathy.
Do the job you love and love the job you do.
Find time daily to introspect, meditate and move into the unknown to know yourself.
Love your family and spend quality time with them.
Have a dream.
Write down your dream and make pictures of it and let your sunconscious mind understand what you want because it is your subconscious mind which will help you translate the dream into reality.
Convert the dream into a goal by writing it. Make short term and long term action plan to achieve this goal.
Start implementation.
Daily revisit your goal and check where you have arrived.
Keep doing it with passion and hard work.
You will be able to achieve your dream ( unless it is harmful to someone ).

Lessons to be average
by Laxman Sivaram on Feb 07, 2015 12:59 PM

Mr Ravi has stated lot of things to be successful/simple/life style etc.But every individual has to be different on different occasions. To keep low profile and simple are good ideas. But at times one"s simplicity and low profile goes against the person and others take for a ride.Mere edu qlfn and wealth and hi fi life style do not bring fame or success. But one has to be assertive and not to cow down by others diktats.
Ravi is qualified and an author. But he has to look at the broad spectrum of more or less qualified people who struggle to eke out a living due to circumstances out of their control. To say and write is something and practical life is DIFFERENT.

Some of the points

are too good, like "Be humble and work hard", "Don't hire people who are less intelligent than you..Hire smart people". Apart from his success at corporate level, this guy also seems to be a very good human being.

Confused Mind
Less Talk and Work on the Catch-Up
by Confused Mind on Feb 03, 2015 08:05 AM

We are learning to evolve somewhat to the level of our colonial masters.
This catch-up will keep going on forever as there is huge knowledge and
technological imbalance. Not only there is huge imbalance, we are also
not aware of the fact that all the knowledge we have from our own past is
mostly irrelevant and defunct and causing more harm to us than any good.
Of course, we are all trying to do the same thing. Come as close as
possible to Western science, technology, culture and civilisation.
Whoever is getting more closer wins. Let's keep pushing to catch-up ...
