For publicity.....
by Discusion Forum on Dec 09, 2015 05:03 PM  | Hide replies

This is for publicity only. Women in kerala have no complaint for not allowing them in the temple because they are aware that this is a matter of faith and complaint coming from Punjab. It is true that Devaswom Board President has made an immature statement.

PEOPLE TEND TO THINK OUT OF CONTEXT, FOR PUBLICITY OR OVER ENTHUSIASM. NEED TO APPLY ONES MIND AND NOT LINK 2 DIFFERENT ISSUES. BOTH SIDES NEED TO BE HEARD.

the usual man-hating...
by Harish Manwani on Dec 09, 2015 03:58 PM  | Hide replies

There are two things here which this woman seems to get confused about. One is the general stigma attached to menstruation (yes, I spelt it fully), which is unfair to women. The second is the undesirability of menstruating women entering temples. Now, anyone with even a small bit of commonsense can see that the second objection is by and large a valid one, if only for reasons of physical hygiene. Saying that menstruating women should go out of their way to barge into temples is a bit silly. Will an unclean or looking person (man or woman) be allowed into a temple? What about someone with infectious diseases? These half-baked feminists should understand that the stigmas attached to bodily functions (like defecation) is applicable even to men. As for Gloria Steinem's quote, the less said the better. I haven't heard any teenage boy bragging about their nightfalls. What I see in this writer is the usual garden-variery "feminist" mix - an implicit assumption that women are somehow special, and more troublesome, that men are intrinsically insensitive and unfeeling, just looking to oppress women. Quoting the likes of Steinem is just a nice way of intellectualizing that assumption. All I can say is, we understand that you hate us. And we are ok with that. Spare us the moralizing and ivory-tower sermon.

Feminist mafia
by Sandeep Mukherjee on Dec 08, 2015 01:57 PM  | Hide replies

The feminist mafia is at play again ! Menstruation is a natural process for humanity (yes entire human race, not just women). If there was no menstruation there will be no procreation and hence no human race.
But the feminist mafia has given a nasty twist to the entire thing. The time of menses is not appropritae for certain things. Normal women know that and follow that naturally and instinctively.

The sabrimala temple is not just a "historic site" as made out by this ignorant social parasite. It is a place of faith for tens of millions. It is not a tourist spot for satiating one's voyeuristic curiosity. If you dont have faith then why go there? its like someone coming to your house. An Indian citizen has freedom of movement but that doesnt include barging into private houses without the permission of the hosts.
The temple trusts and priests are the custodians of the values and procedures that are interwoven into the faith attached to a particular site. Its their prerogative to take decisions on fundamental issues concerning the faith involved with these specific places. No laws, no courts, no politically correct clap trap have jurisdiction over these issues.
