reservation is applicable to only govt and public sector jobs which constitute around 10% of the total available jobs. less than 50% of these jobs are reserved. That means less than 5% of the total available jobs are reserved. Does the people who were oppressed for centuries does not deserve this much favor?

GOPINATHAN ANILKUMAR
Dr Ambedkar
by GOPINATHAN ANILKUMAR on Apr 14, 2015 08:22 PM

Dr Ambedkar was undoubtedly a great personality - highly perceptive and diligent. But a few questions have been lingering in my mind:
In spite of the statements that he was one among the \'untouchables\', the governance of those days did not hesitate to offer him scholarships (fellowships) both within the country and abroad. Does it mean that there were equal opportunities for higher studies (irrespective of castes), or was it that no body else from the (so called) \'upper castes\' did not apply for the scholarships he was offered (and I am not sure how many of the so called upper caste hindus were offered such opportunities; to my perception there were so many - so many people, irrespective of caste, who were struggling for food and shelter in those days). Dr Ambedkar was assigned a very responsible job of designing the Constitution of India (the constitution of the US was designed by none other than Thomas Jefferson). The caste-based discrimination did not surface at that point of time(?) And the discrimination did not appear to be a barrier in his marrying a Brahmin ! Does it mean that if some body was really hard working and intelligent (as Dr Ambedkar was), there were opportunities beckoning them, irrespective of caste (as was the case with Dr Ambedkar)?

He fought for equality and upliftment of deprived and needy, our politicians have made him a tool for vote bank and spreading hate among masses.
Politicians are to learn and take correction that no one who is paying Income Tax he or his dependent will get benefit out of caste as SC,ST etc., so that his soul live in peace.
