Beekeeping for Indian farmers
by R Chakravarti on Apr 18, 2015 11:29 AM

It seems that for a farmer, keeping bees would be quite profitable even without selling any honey, because of increased yields. For this purpose, research should be done on various Indian bees, in addition to the commercial European honeybee. Maybe several farmers could be persuaded to share the cost and effort of maintaining hives, just for improving their yields.

Bee buzz should awaken the government
by SundaraRajan K on Apr 16, 2015 03:37 PM

If what is said above is true, then the government should voluntarily help the farmers to keep bee farming along with their agricultural production. It is for the government to act now. One leader can show the way but some strong backing is necessary to really achieve the result. The farmers need not commit suicide, if they are going to get additional income how less it may be.
