Helmets

In Delhi the helmet law is only for the citizens and not for police personnel, as they keeping riding through the city either without helmet or the helmet strung in their arm. How do you expect them to enforce law.?

What do you mean? Who says they cant enforce the Law? Do our Politicians practice all they preach? All Law enforcing authorities mean to say is that "do as I say, not as I do". If I were Police Official, I can catch anyone who is suspicious and it is for the person to prove that he is not of that character. That is Law.

Law or harrasment?
by Rajendra srivastava on Sep 19, 2014 12:47 PM

Everything is o.k., but how a simple policeman stops your vehicle in the name of checking and collect money on some or the other pretext. As far as I know a person lower than a subinspector can't check the papers of vehicle, but it is a country where every law is misused or distorted by the so called enforcement people. A policeman can drive a bike without helmet, but a common citizen can't. What a mockery of law?
As far as Happy Birthday slogan is concerned, it can't be a copyright of somebody. People are harrased in the name of copyright. How America got copyright for neem (Azaricta indica), termeric and common spices of Indian origin?
Smoking on road is permitted, but not in public places. Roads are also the public places.
We have to be judicious and careful in snatching the right of common mass.

About Sppeding
by prashanth nagabhushan on Sep 19, 2014 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

I feel India, and Indian policy makers have an obsession for "SLOW", we have ridiculous speed limits, we encourage people to go slow, we encourage, bullock carts, pathetically over loaded and slow lorries, dead slow overloaded goods autos, but we despise people who want to reach their destination in time, in a decent safe speed. Is 80KMph fast on a highway????. If somebody other the policy makers, does feel so, then we Indians are unfit to drive any of today's modern cars and bikes, probably we should call back the Ambassadors and Premier Padminis. why dont we have, lower speed limit, and an upper speed limit. why cant we have a lower speed limit of 40kmph on highways, most of the traffic congestion is due to vehicles that move slower than 40kmph. Instead we have over speeding fine for crossing 60kmph. the whole world is moving forward, we are still obsessed with slow and backward.

Prashant your obsession for driving fast may be justified in foreign conditions and on foreign highways buddy! I am a German trainer and have travelled to Europe where the roads are world class and there is hardly any traffic on the highway! These highways are called Autobahns in Germany and you can drive up to 150 km/hr. However if you look at the pathetic conditions the indian roads are in, that speed limit has been set by the government after doing some thinking, some homework looking at the number of accidents taking place everywhere in India. Even on Indian highways during rush hours, there is more than decent traffic. Many times, the reason for traffic jams aren't the slow vehicles, but some tanker which has overturned or some small vehicle. The basic cause of all problems in India is population. This leads to lesser density of space available. Lesser space to walk, to drive, to park vehicles and to move about. One solution could be better roads, the other ..controlling population (if possible!)

You can't do it legally. Maybe they paid royalties to Warner, or they did something illegal.

1.What about the law for those politicians who make Big Banners in public places,Holding Public meetings which disturbs the people in & around the place.

2.What about the posters sticking on the Wall where it is not permitted. Is it not an Offence.

3.What about the Breaking the Traffic Rules like Crossing the Red signal,Stopping the Vehicle beyond the Stop line thus by hindering the pedestrians to use the Zeebra/pedestrian crossing.
4.What about Standing on the Steps of Public transport(even though you have place to stand inside the bus) by creating nuisance to other passengers.
5.What about urinating/ Toileting in public open spaces which creates epidemic disease.

No! What you have listed is an integral part of the identity of people from UP and Bihar!

How would you know a person is from UP or Bihar if he or she uses a claustrophobic enclosed toy let or did the other things you have listed?!

But guarding big corrupt fishes is the unwritten law of the Law enforcing Officials. You should know this basic fact.
