after seeing the article I remember reading an article by shri ramakrishan, a writer who travelled only in town buses from chennai to madurai around 500 kms journey. In tamil nadu one can travel in town bus from chennai to bottom most end kanyakumari. In this journey he expressed the differences in culture within a state itself. it took roughly 24 hrs for him to do this travel.
as u move towards flight travels in life..the occasional rail journey is always a lovely experience its the only true way of seeing india as it goes thru landscapes where even roads can't..
Gr8 pictorial description to take readers into another dreamy yet realistic world, and remind us who we are. The amount of writing is also perfect. Felt a connection with the common man while browsing through.
If you traveled by a train starting from kanyakumari (south india) passing through COCHIN (kerala) and reaching Jammu , it may have been very interesting than this .
It is quite fascinating to read and see the photos. A more elaborated description, as to which all states (12) it touches other than Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, UP and MP should have been more useful.
