sadhya=feast
by Dev on Sep 05, 2014 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

this can hardly be described as a "feast"
this is what a kerala farmer of year 1500-1700 might serve of food grown from his "vayil"
yes, regional vegetarian foods from all states are quite bad.so all more reason to select and improve.
even in kerala there are many good vegetarian dishes.but I think its time to select from allover India when serving a "feast".
we ,indians are now quite used to moving between states and quite accustomed to good food.
so please kerala " lift up your game'!!

You can also try the Kerala mess near Kochu Guruvayoor temple in Matunga.

On the days preceding and following Onam, they serve excellent special dishes.

Actually it is quite healthy. Its easy on the tummy, and devoid of excess oil. Also, it is not necessary to use coconut oil, you can choose some other oil if you wish to..

Why give up coconut oil just because some dhaal-roti fella doesn't like it? They'll die without knowing what good food tastes like anyway.

TN has decent veg, but for non veg, and for breakfast, Kerala has no peers.
Karnataka food = take any TN item, and add a lot of sugar.
Andhra: Rice and rice to go with it.

If coconut oil is nauseating as you insist, then imagine how truly repelling will groundnut oil, gingelly oil and mustard oil based cooking are!

North Indian rural folk stink of mustard oil intermingled with sweat from miles away.

This is why west is amazed of India. Even the food is so different between different states but all taste so good. If you look the spices (Turmeric, asfoetida, curry leaves, chilli powder, Coriander, fenugreek etc.) added to these Indian food is so varied and each have so much medicinal values too.
