Missing Maths :-(
by B Karthikeyan on Sep 05, 2014 10:51 AM

Am a hard core maths lover. But I could not afford to become an engineer/mathematician. Now am a CA but I still love the subject. Tremendous value addition that maths give to science and finance is not appreciated by many - especially we Indians who have it in our blood..

The problem is not with environment but with our mind set. We are driven by money factors we are all woriied how fast we can start earning. That is the reason every body in India wants to become engineer and enter into some IT industry where he will get hand some money and trips to abroad. Does any of us think ourselves am I doing the right thing , by doing this am I adding value to myself, my society & to my country? No we are are all driven by moneyfactor for which we are ready to work as slaves. With present senario we will continue to be slaves for at aleast 100years and no worth while thing will evolve from India. We feel having more bank balance and increasing concret jungle is the development!

Enabling Environment

First congradulations to Mr.Bhargava for this great honour which will make the world (the educated world) recognise Indian talent. But one thing that beats my imagination is why don't we hear such achievements from our own soil, why is that we are only successful outside the country.. maybe we don't provide the right environment for the minds to prosper.
