Manipal Uinversity, VIT, SRM, BITSAT are all great institutions in private sectors and their entrance is organised in a professional way with transparency, The campuses are modern with PhD level faculty and top rankers get great merit scholarships too- they are success stories of higher education in private sector.

Yes."Manipal Uinversity, VIT, SRM, BITSAT are all great institutions in private sectors" as they make a lot of profit through regular fee and capitation. You need to find how many students they admit per year, and then you can easily estimate the quality of education there. Further, you can check the qualification of their teaching faculties and also their salaries. Their entrance exam is a FAKE process.

VIT SRM AND MU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE LIST ALONG WITH IIT-JEE AND BITSAT.
The Joint Entrance Examination is the ONLY competitive entrance examination for aspiring engineers in the country at national level conducted by the central government. Remaining like BITSAT,VITEEE, MU OET, SRMEEE etc. are by private universities. You can not put these entrance exam in par with IIT-JEE. In fact entrance exam. by these self financing institute has no much meaning as they admit large students on their own. How can be such errors in news article on Rediff ?
