CULTURE
by Nanda PK on Nov 02, 2014 09:04 PM  | Hide replies

Culture-less person behave this way. Rahul pashupalan - if he finds his action just by quoting kamashastra idols in Ajantha, Ellora, etc - then there are idols there showing orgies also - why don't he arrange one with his wife then? may be that will be his next aim - who knows - the extent people go towards targeting political opponents is extreme in Kerala. Leaders among we Keralites are even known to create lists of people who do not agree with their ideologies' to be to murdered, then what to say about their followers.

Bad argument, but typical indian style. However Swach Bharat movement is on (if it answers your objection).

Yeah, the people of Kerala are all rishiis who are hardcore monogamists, don't misbehave with women, don't watch po1n, and don't pinch them in buses. Before abusing others for simply kissing in public (or trying to), look at the ro1 lying in your own backyard, what the so called "normal" Malayalis do.

Earlier, when we had decency in public we also had less misbehavior with women

Stop the cafe culture
by slider on Nov 02, 2014 07:07 PM

Do you see people see women/girls in cafes pubs of North India I guess not so we have to impose our great culture on the low life mallus. Good that Rahul lives in Kochi not in North.

Do not bring indian epics for defence
by Ramaswamy on Nov 02, 2014 06:51 PM  | Hide replies

Every country have its own culture, heritage, practices and so on. The ways of expressing / exibiting love varies from culture to culture which are time tested.

Why try to impose western culture on this country? Why not follow your own.

The way of west may not be wrong , but in their countries. If you want to chose their way, you have no restriction to show it when you are there.

Will you show your guts in Arab countries against their laws? Why here? Because this is a soft democracy and resilient to all alien cultural assaults. There is no need to support you cause now.

You are welcome to profess your thought here but not to exibit or express it TILL this country whole heartedly accepts it and finds it better than the age old ways.

The quotes from Indian epics are absolutely misquotes and non sense and done out of context. Do not drag our epics

Freedom, human rights and liberty transcends such human boundaries as geography, religion, culture, ethnicity and race. These are universal values that all civilized societies have to respect, protect and project. Just because among the most socially backward, doctrinal and tyrannical nations like Saudi Arabia, Iran and Pakistan, trample on these rights does not mean India should emulate them. Young people showing affection in public is their right and if it upsets anyone they just need to turn away. This whole justification for moral policing is abhorrent, dangerous and unlawful. How far this moral policing go? Why then not prevent airing of programmes showing kissing? Would you also cover temples showing far more explicit images? Would then start dictating female dress?

Are these truly universal values or western values. Why cant we develop our own values like China is doing?

Since we are there, why not go the whole way and follow Saudi Arabia. Will completely preserve our culture, whatever you people think that is. Ever watched old Malayalam movies? New ones? Culture changes, in case you did not notice. Trying to force people to behave the way you think is right is not culture, it shows a complete lack of culture.

We have blindly accepted that to westernize means progress. We should not be blind to the fact that western society is tearing apart at the seams because there is no sense of community. Individual rights at the cost of community will lead to degradation just as it has in the west. We should look at the West and also from Saudi Arabia with an open mind. We should learn respect for labor and punctuality from the west, not sexual permissiveness.
