I am a govt officer , middle aged & holding an important position.I can tell from my own experience & understanding that if you are passionate and capable enough for your occupation which obviously will occupy a main part of your life ( apart from family) then it is a worth for being self employed rather than working for somebody else , less so for the Govt particularly in a country like India.Yes , self employment has its share of risks, but at least you will be able to live a life you are BASICALLY intended for.In a govt job like mine there is job security, but there is also job stagnation and the basic nature of the job is so substandard that it is not worth doing it except for a steady but mediocre salary and a pension at the end of life for your corpse to enjoy it.

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the UNREASONABLE man." --George Bernard Shaw
