There_are_three_kinds_of_people

a)      People WHO_GETS_BUSINESS: These are smart folks. These people will always be in demand and if we happen to work under these folks, more often than not, one would learn the essentials to go up the ladder. As these folks are already smart, all of them (or most of them) would not feel insecure about their position and works at the notion of meeting the lion in its den.
b)      People WHO_IMPLEMENTS: These are also skillful folks on par with people who get BUSINESS. Skillful implementers innovate and ensure they stay relevant and sellable at any time. These folks also would not feel insecure and if we happen to work under them, it is rest assured that we are most likely to get inspired from them.
c)      PEOPLE_WHO_GETS_THE_JOB_DONE: These are the dangerous folks. They get the job done. By whom. By others. If they get credit it is purely POLITICS. They don’t know how to get it (business) or how to implement it (business). If an organization keeps their count to the bare minimum, then there will be no politics. Well the productivity increases when these people are removed from the organization. One way to remove them is to encourage more automation in the way of standardization. Or we could encourage folks to be evangelist who speaks to two folks (who_gets_business and who_implements) in their terms. Evangelists are even talented folks who are a bit of both (who_gets and who_implements)

Before people start criticizing that this article fosters 'take it lying down' - i must say, amid all the trash, this is a very sensible piece of workplace advice. Sure, it isn't easy, and it isn't a fair workplace - but hey, neither is life. If you are utterly disgusted by your job and boss, you really should consider building your resume to get a new job or better yet, innovate and start your own shop. Once you do, you'll realize it isn't quite that easy to manage finances, budget, manpower and all other kind of resources along with the business politics. There's reason why women are called the real 'boss' of the household. Despite different shortcomings they handle the household - needs of men and women of different age groups, know when to pamper a ego and when to crush it, finances and resources inside and outside the kitchen. Heck, they even know the right moves (often) to get their way in the bed. And they are smart enough to discuss some private matters to gauge where you stand while proud enough to not let the shortcomings out. In a workplace, that's how a boss deals with stuff often. It's a real job unlike Chetan Bhagat's novels ;) , though that's not to say there aren't plenty of adamant, egotistic morons in high chairs.

U r right.. to have ur own start-up is nxt to immpossible given the kind of investment & infras required. As for women they have an undue advantage at work as bosses tend to be polite and ignore their mistakes.
