It is true

Some of these institutes are world class no doubt. These are rankings done by America which is hub and center of research. We agree no one can beat america in research and they are supreme in that and no 1. India is worst in research even worse than say New Zealand. Most of the accreditation are American and London based.

I have two studied in two foreign countries and I sincerely believe top ranking schools are not necessary to become rich and progress in life. Also these top universities are recognized in countries only where there is meritocracy as state system. Except for Singapore, Hong Kong and some other south east Asian countries, there is no meritocracy in jobs and these universities degree will be like a toilet paper. India is full of mediocrity from mid to senior level manager.

What if some Indian sitting in India enroll in a online course from harvard and say I am Harvard graduate just like Smrita Irani, the most third rate HRD minister we had in india till date said I am Yale graduate after attending 6 days bootcamp training course where she got attendance participation certificate...

America must make ensure the world follows meritocracy like america follows to certain extent, Singapore runs on pure meritocracy where education and talent and knowledge is given utmost importance than connection and politics which is their recipe...

Today in the globalized world, where being bilingual is not only an asset, but can help the country in bridging business where english is not a common language, our HRD minister, 12 pass Yale graduate who changed her degree in 2 affidavit says Sanskrit is our national pride and main language to be taught in school...

Feel so angry to see such illiterate HRD minister in ranks. We agree to become politician, education is not necessary, we agree some of top business tycoons in world are schools drop out, but common this specific post requires at least high quality graduate from top school in world if not PHD or researcher, since while talking to leaders or institutional heads or deans, you need to be on same level like sometime collaboration in syllabus which is in high demand or exchange or reforms or research talks, this gawaar lady is completely unfit for this post. Since base of country lies in education and this is Modi's blunder of appointing this nautanki lady here where this regime is talking about reforms.

World's best schools 2014: Four Indian institutes in the top 100
by Prabhakar Waghodekar on Nov 12, 2014 12:40 PM

The world top schools belong to management institutes. But none within 10. Our Management institutes fall from rank 20 to 59. These institutes hardly admit 0.01 students, the cream of cream. Now what is the contributions of these graduates to national growth? What is the contribution of others who are not students of these institutes? What is ROI of these institutes to nation? ROI needs to be the only criterion for ranking.

The coverage only Management Institutes. IIMs in India admit hardly .01% of graduates based on tough exam admitting only the cream of cream students who have capacity to excel. What is the contribution of these institutes to India's growth? What is the contribution by those who are not students of these Institutes? ROIto nation needs to be an essential criterion for the ranking of Institutes.

Indain B-schools can move further up the ranking
by Common Man on Nov 11, 2014 09:56 AM

Indian B-schools and move further up in the rankings if Government doesn't involve in their management. And just provide additional funds whenever required.

University rankings
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Nov 11, 2014 04:48 AM  | Hide replies

The ratings and rankings are also very subjective and anti Indian. When India becomes the world's largest economy there will be only 25 schools in the list of the top 100. The IITs and IIms are better than many of the schools that make it to these lists. I am completely grown in a world class American University system for MSs and PhD after attending IIT Madras for BTech, and I know this is true. I am sure that under Narendra Modi, more Indian schools will become world class in the near future.
