These emotions were there in living beings from time immemorial and are necessary for survival. If an emotion is not necessary for the proper functioning of the body, the response to some situation would not have been created by the brain or the body. Now, excess is not good in anything. Without stress, a being will not excel in any field. Without anger it is not possible to counter obstacles and nuisance to one's progress. Depression is a way of giving rest to the body at times of need. Without anxiety one cannot remain alert in certain circumstances where extreme alertness is necessary. PLEASE DO NOT WORRY EVEN IF YOU HAVE THESE EMOTIONS IN CONTROLLABLE LIMITS AND BE HAPPY ALWAYS.
Stress / Anger / Depression / Lethargy & Anxiety are man-made hazards caused due to negative mental energy developed over a period of time resulting in mental & physical destruction of self.
Emotional health can be introduced as a subject in high school.Yoga can be the practicls.BJP can initiate this.It need not be made cumpulsory but optional

Re: 5 emotions that will ruin your health

Emotions are an integral part of human behaviour. People feel emotions as response to any situation faced by them. What I would add is that in present times we have grown highly conscious of our outward projected social image, (as we try to acquire more and more material possessions through our professional lives). And, also we are associating our selfworth and happiness to our wealth and financial status. This results in a very cosmetic way of life (reason being aping the west where everything is weighed by money worth and people are mostly self-centered). India of earlier days was quite traditional and there existed close family bonds even if there was no wealth status, in the yester-years of our country. Then there was much of love and care within families that helped people to face bad times happily. Today, as India is getting more and more westernised, we are losing this traditional family support, that is getting replaced by personal greed and wealth ambitions as we try to find solace in urban pleasures and material gains, this is bound to take toll in terms of emotional health being harmed. So, the loss of emotional health would result. In these circumstances one should try to take balanced approach and keep family relations and career ambitions equally cared, to keep work-life balance. This would help greatly in alleviating us of the ill-effects of these unhealthy emotions. Rahul Tatu
Mental Illness is largely biological rather than just psychological. This cannot be treated just by diet, exercise or will-power. This needs in depth understanding, medication and psychotheraphy. Without medication, like anti-psychotics it will not be fixed. We in India take mental illness lightly and focus only on physical.

Depression and mental illness are of two kinds. One is pyschological caused by trauma etc. The other is biological caused by hormones, chemical imbalances and neurotransmitters. It is the later one which we are unaware of. This causes diseases like Bi-Polar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD etc. And these cannot be tackled just by will power or education.
