Make Amritsar clean and it is better than Paris or Rome. Quintessential India!
Make it cleaner than European cities and it is possible!

WOW! AMRITSAR
by Ganith Vidwan on Nov 07, 2014 12:49 PM  | Hide replies

The writer evoked old memories and made my mouth water.
The sights of this historic city are compelling. One problem though- the city is getting dirtier like other Indian cities. If this is solved, it will be like any other European heritage city e.g. Paris, Rome or Venice.
Oye! Amritsar

What to eat when you're in Amritsar

When ever I visit India, I avoid all meat and milk products, also bottled water, can't trust indians in these three items
Meat do not where it comes from and how old it is.
Milk, Can't tell weather it is genuine cow milk or artificial.
Water, Bottles are filled from tap not knowing what condition the water is and bottles resealed with black tape.
Even vegetables get adulterated with artificial colouring, sweeteners and flavour.
Nothing in India can be trusted still vegetable is better then meat.

Where were you born Ms. Sheetal. It seems rather you have too much of prejudice for India or staying out of India has completely weakened your digestive system. Yes, the things might not be of standard of the developed world but we are happy citizens. We are not mechanized bodies, we do have enjoy our relations and are happy in India. Better surrender your Indian citizenship in case you have that and avoid coming to India next time.
Thanks

Even potatoes which are not fit to be sold are adultery in acid.
Any way people with third class education and think this way.
You are most welcome to use the rubbish that you wish to eat.
Sheetal I completely agree with you.

My family from Kolkata is presently in Amritsar on a visit to the Holy City.Unfortunately,I could not accompany them.I have been told that Amritsar is one of the best cities in India, not going by the quality of infrastructure or shopping malls but by the hospitality of the people. She is moved by the arrangements at the Golden Temple. She had food at the langar and also at various restaurants.I feel sad that Sheetal Kaur being from Punjab has all things bad to say about the city.Let me tell her"People like you are not welcome in India."You lact basic qualities of becoming an Indian where hospitality, mannerism, culture and self pride is considered above money and wealth.

I am not saying any thing bad about Amritsar, or any other city matter in fact whole of India.
It is just that the way food is now a days adulterated is my concern. Take for example red food colouring mostly used in red chillies, It was perfect and legal to use it about until 10 years ago. Now it has been found a major cause of cancer, among indians it has been banned to be used as food colouring in the whole world. But we in India still use it, same goes for all green vegetables such as Peas. Parvals etc, water melons have added red colouring and artificial sweetener as well. Do some research and you will agree with me.
Artificial chemical milk will you feed it to your new born baby?

Indian food is safe and has been certified by certain Australian authorities. One can hardly hear of food poisoning in India where street food is concerned. Milk is genuine in India so is the bottled water. i had street food in bhendi bazar for years and i never had food poisoning

My dear Bhaskar - eating for FREE is undoubtedly either BEGGING or Accepting HOSPITALITY with Positivity. It is you who has confirmed your own STATUS - It was your AIM to save money(Or should I say - Beg). Do you not feel like a BEGGAR while eating at a Marriage/Birthday function of a friend or relative? - Even there you have to stand in a line awaiting your turn....and 'ASK' for food! - Maybe in that case you are a Five Star Beggar! - with a Ceramic Plate in your hand and a well decorated table and chair to sit on in an Air conditioned Hall - My dear friend It is how you Analyse things in life. It is your Positivity or Negativity that you REFLECT.
