I had a friend who just married and living in Mumbai with Sla of 50-60 K.... With this salary you can have a decent 2 BHK flat in Thane / New Mumbai ( rent 15-16 K) and live a very comfortable life... The person was adamant to Buy a flat in Mumbai and spent 12 yrs staying in a hutment kind of structure had kids.. they also grew in the same miserable lifer.. After 15 yrs he bought a 1 BHK for 85 L ( took Loan of 50-60 L)... Now he is paranoid for paying that 50-6o L... I said the story that he lost his entire youngage (Jawani laut ke nahin Aati), Gave a slum life to wife and Kid for 10-13 yrs in the pursuit of """FUTURE IS BRIGHT""" But now also he is enslave to Bank..These financial planner wants that you don't hire taxis live life like a pig... and save money so that they earn commission.. I do not see any point in it

Ok, you spend on all your whims today, what will you do when old age sets in? Are you going to work till 100? If you dont save today, then then there will be nothing to spend on essentials (not whims of today) tomorrow when you are old, infirm and need medical care. Understood or is this rocket science for you?
