Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Union Commission, has banned the import of Alphonso mangoes to the European Union. yes he has done the right thing to save the european countries from economic disbalance(by infecting other vegetables/fruits of their countries)they are not asians (indians) to say kuch bhi chalega.

well, what will be ur reaction if those countries start banning the "real mangos" that are "contaminating" their societies :-). If you are in open market it should be free and fair, transparent policy.
Actual fact is different. Now most of the European countries are in deep economical crises. It will spread rapidly day by day in future. Their luxury days are over but they do not want to show. Nothing, they are trying to control their cost.

US is only people who eat GM foods and as a consequence they suffer from all sorts of deadly diseases
We deserve whats happenin. Got a Box of Alphonso Mangoes from crawford market mumbai yesterday. The worst i ever Tasted. When will we stop fooling people who are paying a premium for a product. just to make a quick buck we Tamper with quality.Ther will be a time when foreign countries will stop doin business with us..Stop being greedy
It is better to have a couple of fruit flies than all those pesticides, additives and preservatives that the European and American foods are full of. Their harmful effects are being talked about all the time but they would rather prefer that. These guys have jaundiced vision.

very well said. there is always an opportunity in an adversity!
So what if the EU has banned the Alphonso mangoes. Stop making such a racket...They have very high standards when it comes food contamination through chemicals and pesticides. I personally know because we are engaged with the EU on a daily basis. Almost daily. I work in the tea industry and what we have to comply with to export our teas to the EU. We follow what is referred to as MRL. Many tea plantations have gone organic and have benefited from the move. Mangoes are exported once in a year.. Big deal.. We are doing it almost daily. They have their standards so follow them. Otherwise don't export. And there is nothing racist about their actions.
