Does any one care, is she the only important mother, There are millions other in India who don't work to raise their family. Those who do work may not have a choice of not working.
this topic will not have easy answers. But personally I very much appreciate Kajol's decision. Even though she has got enough money it would be an extremely tough decision and I commend her for that. I definitely feel ideally it is a crime if your children are not able to get your quality time. I understand that a lot of mothers are career focused but then they should avoid being mothers. Those who feel that couples work only to make ends meet are misplaced. But it is also not right to be professionally educated and then only being expected to look after the family. So i believe that they can get into professions that they can run from home and can give them some income. But to be able to achieve this we will need to be thoughtful how we bring up our daughters
Our prime duty is to give a good life to our children. Good here does not only mean materialistic good but also good values. Good values can only be imparted being with your children. Therefore I very much appreciate Kajol decision.
she is from glamor industry and her husband is also working and earning very nicely. only if she had a difficult time making ends meet - she also would have to surely go to work like many other millions [ working women ] in india.
no beg deal if she is not going out / making films as she has enough to run her expenses otherwise.
ask this question to a middle class lady and you [ rediff ] will get the exact and precise answer.

Many women in India are working not because of their kids but because their husband ask them to do so.....Husband here believes (And very true as well...)that things like love lasts as long as wife brings green bucks at home and they can enjoy with that money and can say things to the world that she goes to work not because i want but because she likes (Very wrong...)

i differ from your views and thoughts. you are talking of a very different sects of people - these are people who want to enjoy life at the wife's expense. but this is not the general trend.
No body want to go for work unless there is need of money for livlihood and better enjoyment of life and saving for future. Its depend on priorities in your life.
The choice entirey rests upon the woman and to some extent on her partner (husband). In case you are looking for financial stability; you can consider to cut down on your expenses and do with single income (that of your partner's). However, if you are working just because you wish to fulfill your career goals (with income as the by-product); you probably need to think if your doing justice to the kid and your family.
Kajol has the luxury of financial backing. Not all women are as lucky as her. Majority of women work as they don't have a choice. Much as they would love to be home and take care of the child, they do not have the luxury to indulge in this dream.
