Mother in law
by arungopal agarwal on Jul 03, 2014 12:49 PM

Earlier marriage was fixed by Nai(Barbar), later on in majority of cases by relations, about 25 years back by parents, parents also given up lately, now a days by boys and girls together.
Anyone can collect data, with higher education and girls are also in service, in majority of cases, mother in law is afraid of daughter in law. Mobile have added further fuel in this relationship as daughter in law though has joined new family, but keen to know about more of his mother and father and governed by them.
Sharda Act is now widely mis used.
Laws were made to give justice to needy and those who need pity, but not for mis-use. This is an abuse of law today.

What the author writes is actually history. Now the daughter-in-law is very independent, does what she wants and master of her and her family's destiny.Parents-in law have also understood that once their son is married the ownership passes on to their daughter-in -law.As long as they understand this there is harmony and respect and dignity of elders is maintained.

Truth is still the same in rural and semi urban areas which happens to share larger population in India. Mums find it difficult to transfer the ownership leading to Ego clashes. Of course the common sufferer is Son turned husband.

This doesnt need a book. The day women genuinely feel that they are not dependent on men for finance and security, the DIL - MIL feud will become extinct.

In American society, which has supposedly transformed into a equal society, it is the men who fear the their mother-in-law and not the ladies. I keep thinking about if there is ever a euql world. My feeling is once equality is given, ladies have tendency to take over and men loose conrol. I am not saying it is right or wrong, I am just putting forward the food for thought...
