I just read the Message of New York Mayor to KOC University in Turkey. I liked the idea of this competition which has been instituted to solve today's problems of expanding cities. There is a Prize Money as well. I do not know or not Heard of any Indian city has participated in this. We keep hearing of Group of people gong on foreign Tours to study & implement Good Practices !!!, however, never heard of Participation to solve the Problem. I think only when they will participate they would get hands on experience to do something better & implement in their Area. Happy to know the Good work done by New York City Mayor. Also wish them more of such initiatives to make life better for all.

I have tried umpteen times to start a business and each time I have failed ending in debts. There is no community support and I see most of my friends happy working. The indian system is tight knitted and only those who are close to political rulers or top rung officers in organisation are given a opportunity. Here in private organisation the hire and fire policy is the worst. The last job I was fired I was not even given a reason.

Breaking the ice is the opportunity and not walking on the ice. So my dear, break the ice and you will see that India is full of opportunities.
That is called American Dream, where except Merit nothing works, because of which Ms Indira Nooyi, and Nadendla Satya have achieved what they are today.
Here in our secular society except merit everything works, see what is happening to Mr Narayan Murthy of Infosys, founder himself is finding difficult to manage the organisation after a gap.
See the plight of Automobile Industry, struggling to keep pace with the global industry.
That is American Dream where only merit works nothing else, and here except merit everthing else works.
each tries best and many might even be working harder too but only very very few had succeeded ... new born happens in all categories of people, be it qualified-unqualified, rich - poor... might force us to believe the existence of super power. THEREFORE, to my mind/experience, one need to have positive mind, right approach, patience, guidance, ability to take risks without caring failures... might help any one to succeed...
