The Only Thing I like in this World

Is The Traditional Indian Caste System and The Racial Discrimination followed by Whites towards Non Whites.

My Open Challenge to Anti Caste Guys - Can anyone of them Claim Equality with an American / Australian / British citizen Woman of White Origin and Marry Inter Racially with their Parent's permission ????

They only challenge the Weakest Brahmins and exploit our belief system. Brahmins themselves form another Varna and they are also a Part of Caste system. Brahmins have not created Caste system, it was defined by Hindu G0ds for Division of labour.

Yes, Caste is good only if followed for Right reasons like Purity of race, continuing of age old practices and traditions.

Caste should not be misused to exploit others (Particularly the Lower castes) - The Upper caste must do their duty and Lower caste their respective duties.

Nobody should misuse another or make fun of the other.

Caste becomes bad if the people start ki11ing based on hatred.

varnam
by Ramana murthy on Aug 04, 2014 12:58 PM

we never had castes. only professions. the word varnam was interpreted as caste by the british and we blindly followed them. the same way kaamam was interpreted as love. these costed us heavily. lineage which was actually kulam was also interpreted as caste. thus kulam and varnam became synonymous. sri krishna was called yadu kula kisora or yudu kula simha etc by poets. here kula means lineage. interpreted as caste it lead to the yadavas claiming to have come from sri krishna's caste. similarly sri rama was described as ikswaku-kula-tilaka. here again it is the lineage but not caste.
if you read the mahabharatha there were people who married from different varnams. karna's foster father, sanjaya were sutas. sutas were products of kshatriya men x brahmin women.
they occupied good positions in the king's court as ministers ( in those days ministers drove the king's chariots). sumantha was dasaratha's minister and charioteer was a suta.
the whole issue becomes a problem when man identifies himself as a physical body and forgets he is a soul embedded in the body to realise his self. even that is not considered a sin as per sanathana dharma for it believes that in one or the other rebirths that self realisation may happen. what it asks is 'why not now, when you got a human birth"?.If you read the story of saints ( including that of sai samarth of shirdi) none of them encouraged the inter-caste marriages( with the present day interpretation of caste). this is a fact.

Its the tribal mentality...
by Ravi on Jul 28, 2014 05:40 AM  | Hide replies

to make sure every tribe sustains and survives the changing times.

Thats where the caste, religion comes into the forefront of every problem. Some tribes make sure that they spread like bacteria to maintain the majority in society. Allowing polygamy is one such example.

Generally Indian parents look at their kids as an investment on which the returns are implicitly expected in the span of 21 odd years. Its just like any Fixed deposit scheme.

Result is gradually the kids become emotional slaves of their parents. Most of the indian kids don't realize this till they become an adult, live alone or start taking personal decisions in life independently.

dont judge so hasty
by Amit Kumar on Jul 28, 2014 02:16 AM

it goes both ways girlie. your parents now have to accommodate your husbands 'unfamiliar' relatives as part of family.

suppose your parents had forced you to marry someone you don't like, you would rebel in various ways, won't you? well, that is exactly what they are doing. you are young and freshly married. wait 10 years before judging them.

Caste system will be there as long as caste based reservaton, caste based vote ban, caste based approach in our public life. The government itself to be blamed as it made Brahmans superior ( not allowing any reservation even for the poor)

Statistics, someone?
by monojit b on Jul 25, 2014 03:38 PM

I am curious. Do NRIs, India born foreign nationals and their descendents are as concerned about micro-caste system prevalent among resident Indians are or are they more engulfed in issues concerning their Asian or Indian origin?
Can any knowledgeable person comment?
Another statistics I am interested in knowing is how many of those persons would have got benefit of the reservation quota system if they stayed in India. Once abroad, did they need the quota system to prosper?
