Simple!!!! Don't perform well they will chase you out with a good Send off. Also they will say in the send off "very hard working and We are sorry to lose you" if you are a good performer then you will not be allowed to quit.

HAMID KHAN
Exploitation by Top IT companies
by HAMID KHAN on Jul 31, 2014 03:38 PM

I would like to share the experience of my daughter, who had been working for top IT company (franchise) since last almost 4 years, everytime she got a call for interview, her HoD/Project manager gave assurance that she will get on core (permanent with parent organisation) and even they promoted her, but not on papers, and no increment or additional incentives from time of appointment till date. But she realise now and got a new job, with almost double the payment and good post. Now under such circumstances does she needs to resign gracefully.
I m frustrated alot bcoz they almost ruin her carreer taking away 4 crucial years where she could have build up her good future. I would suggest everyone specially the one who are fresher/just graduated, after at the most 2 years one should check-up and find, how the organisation is treating with seniors and your collegues and take decission accordingly.

Smart tips to resign gracefully !
by pa siramu on Jul 21, 2014 11:14 PM

These are theoretically good tips. In practice, boss/ organisation wants you, you will be given good increments / promotion. Otherwise, even if you ask decent increment / promotion (with all justification), boss / management will give you unacceptable / illogical reasons that makes you quit. No grace ! Once you understood management does not need you, start trials(if necessary take leave)to get job while in service for better bargain. Once you get, try to come out as early as possible to join new organisation to contribute who valued you in time of necessity. You can't expect your ex-employer to say good words of you. If you comeup, he will use your reference for his company.

Nothing Special

In these days of recession and global competition, u r assessor is under pressure to produce results, and may put pressure on u too for improving, particularly in soft ware industries, and Auto industries , wherein the sales are down, the situation warrants to swim or sink ie. resign.

But in the given circumstances, getting a job immediately may be difficult, may not be impossible, ofcourse for a pay cut.

All the points mentioned are worth reading, but may be difficult to implement, as we are all normal humans.

These days as the opportunities are huge so the competition too, and expectation for performance.

Recent changes in Infosys & Tata Motors are the best examples, but the corporate planners won't think in other direction, as how the organisation grew all these years, and the reasons for not being able to sustain - stand competition, unlike scooter market - Japanese and Italians are growing but the home grown Bajaj is not able to stand, the reason is simple, the above organisations were unable to identify real contributor's for growth, and facing music.

Under these working conditions what is the logic of sticking better to quit, and implement few of the points discussed in the article.

That is so true, Commu!

It should not be funded by some SC/ST leader trying launder the tax payer money he stole as a minister or legislator!

The next thing you know, your employer is under investigation for accepting "low caste" funds; everything "owned" by your employer is sealed indefinitely and you are unemployed for no fault of yours!

Why it should be one sided...
by kuttan on Jul 18, 2014 12:07 PM

If the boss is not courteous towards you, the same kind etiquette need not be followed. The boss may also require your help to find out certain things which you only must be knowing.

A rude boss should be given a rude shock by giving one month notice and foregoing one month salary. They cannot stop your PF amount, what ever the reasons are.

Courtesy shown to boss should be rewarded in the same manner.

Unless you work for a street vendor, all reputable companies ask their unwanted employees to leave gracefully!

Yes, all these MNCs are kind of street vendors. Don't know when they "want" an employee and when the same becomes "unwanted". Grow up buddy. Learn the fact that - they were the ones who hired you in before firing.

However, I'm not taking the side of "unproductive" employees here. In such cases, both, company and employee know that they have to part ways.

Mind your words. Don't say again that an employee is "unwanted".

Real meaning

I quit! 11 smart tips to resign gracefully

1. Resign gracefully ........ real meaning ...... hand in your resignation and take the rest of the day off! Saying "colorful" things about your boss's mumyAndSister isn't going to make a smidgen of a difference to the in workings of your soon-to-be-former employer!

2. Give a notice ........ real meaning ....... let your employer know you are leaving without shouting and yelling or in some cases crying (ladies please note)!

3. Mention your reasons ...... real meaning ...... this is good opportunity to highlight the wrong direction the company is moving in.
It is not an opportunity to highlight your boss's questionable paternity!

4. Resignation letter ...... real meaning keep it short and don't say "colorful" things about the female members of your boss's family!

4. Request for a recommendation letter ..... real meaning ...... if you resign like a consummate professional and by not abusing your boss, you may try to get this letter!

5. Be thankful ........ real meaning ........ be thankful for all things you were able to learn from your employer which will come in more than handy when you work for your employer's competitor!

6. Don't forget the details ...... real meaning ....... don't leave without collecting every last rupee you employer owes you!

7. Return company property ...... real meaning ..... don't assume your employer will forget you still have the company laptop!

8. Staying longer: Should you or should you not ..... real meaning ...... stay longer at your own risk! If you are leaving because your boss is a d0n keys Back Side, it is better you exit as soon as you can! There is no point in extending your misery till your employer finds your replacement!

9. Help with the transition ...... real meaning ...... charge your now former employer what a consultant would charge to "help with the transition". Your employer isn't doing anybody favors by providing employment, make them pay for your time!

10. Take your belongings along ...... real meaning ...... don't leave "souvenirs" that will remind your former colleagues about you! Nobody is going to miss you and your belongings will end up in the garbage the moment you are out of the front door!

11. Zip it up! ....... real meaning ..... don't complain about your former employer and especially about your boss! Since your boss continues to be a boss and you (hopefully) temporarily unemployed, it is you who end up looking bad when you mention "colorful" things about your boss's female family members!
