his kind of statement from CEO of one of the largest corporate is completely unwarranted & hypocrisy.she should have confronted with this much before her deemed departure from top job & taking into account the views of her daughter. Can we assume that her daughter would accept her as complete mother minus the wealth that has been collected by working at the top of pyramid?

Its not just women

its a lesson to everyone in life. Be it men or women. You have to chose between wonderful career or a happy family life. Its not possible to have both due to competitive nature of capitalistic world. We hear cases of divorce with men where the wife complains that husband is not available for family. If ppl are less greedy there is possibility of compromise both work and family.

I agree with you partially - career and family life conflict is not just for women. However, I guess it is more for women than men from the fact that children's dependency on mother is much more than their dads. Not to say, dads never takes care of their kids but at least during the maternity stage, it is mom whom has to do it herself and father can't take that work. It is at this stage of the life, they have more challenges than men in balancing work life.

its okay to come together and progress
by rashmi on Jul 07, 2014 12:16 PM

our society is confused today and Indra's emotions reflect the same perfectly...guilt has been very passionately watered to grow and finally overshadow all the progress that this lady's family have together made for themselves as well as for the society.facts are facts.. yes the bio clock ticks differently but every clock ticks on its own rythm.Children grow and have various needs at various stages, true life partners enjoy coming together with you and then want to progress with you.Stale water stinks.if we compare generations, there is a lot that has changed like food habits, tastes , clothing , availability of resources that can help manage the day to day much better than our mother's used to do and hence , the definition of hands on mother have taken a great and giant quality lift from someone who struggles passionately in kitchen to dish out everyone's favorite food every 3 hours a day or has dusting as her fav. project or has managing the laundries as her primary duty to someone who still manages all this but is sure and certain to get help around the tasks that a professional can do well under her supervision .the unfare part here is that ,under constant lense of society the women feels guilty to take help .. so the superwomen taunt is constantly hurled at her.. for god's sake its time to shed away inhibitions and try to do it better and in right way.raising children is a big responsibilty and must be done with emotional maturity between partners.this sets and example.

Its time for you and your wife to take care of your parents...Instead asking them to take care of your children (Just to help your wife making extra money to help you get some quality life..)...Comeone...Be a man (Or atleast pretend to be like a man)...
