Really nice of them to come back for trying to solve a tricky problem. It is also peculiar to all the developing countries in general and India in particular because we lack in sincerity. I have noticed that even well educated people don't attempt to follow simple rules of cleanliness. Most of the time everybody's business is nobody's business. If we see the pattern of the developed countries it is the sincerity shown by people which puts development in the fast lane. There is no better example than Singapore for this

The solution to our waste disposal lies in such business models.waste is essentially the larger part of raw materials used in any production process and also in consumption. The rejected or discarded material can be used as raw material for some other production process. Thus the smoke from a coal fired thermal plant contains gases and particulate matter. The same can be collected and gases can be sequestered and solids reprocess into useful ash or something. Likewise the waste from a slaughter house - skins, bones, blood, viscera all have uses. Household garbage needs to be segregated into solid, liquid, organic, inorganic, recyclable and hazardous etc. Segregation facilitates recycling and reuse. Unfortunately this is not being done except for kabad. Banyan is doing a commendable work. Right now they are using only compression. Let them work on this segregation thing and I have no doubt their business model would work.

We want these kind of entrepreneurs for India who makes India proud. India needs cleanliness and must become a country with clean and green environment. These guys must be awarded for their enterprising skills. Government must support them and more and more people should come forward to solve the garbage problem in India. We as a country is well known for our dirt, filthy living conditions and we must arise and awake to be sensitive to civic issues rather than depending on Municipalities.

There is lots of money to be made in the garbage business. There is scope for more to enter the business because there is plenty of garbage in the country and requires to be cleaned up and money made. Hope the government does not levy taxes on such enterpreuners and destroy their spirit. After all the government does not spare anything that generates money.
