tamil Nadu has its own uniquness.good way to ask cancer patients to go chemotherapy. can someone tell us why cancer is increasing at such an alarming rate. Why is the goverment not banning tobacco the greatest cause of cancer. Women feel it is fashion not to breast feed their children which is one of the causes for breast cancer.perverted sexual practises are on the rise causing increse in cervical cancers. consuming harmfull foods like China salt used in most food chain industry is causing Intestinal cancr, Pesticides in excess use has caused mutations causing more cancers of many internal organs. So many more reasons are there. girls wake up fight the cause than encouraging cure.

We live under a fast world and our diets have changed. We go for junk food, remember smoking is not only causes cancer. It also genetic, but a healthy diet can help us. But do we really care. My kids prefer KFC than home food and I am the cause for it.

Cancer,Chemotherapy & Chennai Girls
by KLRao on Feb 21, 2014 07:13 PM

First of all, I appreciate the young girls, shaving their heads, for motivating women with cancer to go for Chemotherapy.ButI would like to bring out an important point,to their notice.Good cells also go away along with bad cells, hence one or two times of chemotherapy may help not beyond that.( this is my observation & inference, out of experience, as I lost my elder brother, with prostrate cancer with chemotherapy number of times 5, as I remember) One more point is our Homeo or Ayurveda or Unani systems may offer curative treatment- this is to be found out by experts.

Cancer,the dreaded disease
by sasidharan on Feb 21, 2014 03:02 PM

Cancer is a dreaded disease and real cancer is incurable. Some types of malignancy is amenable to medicines, radiation or chemotherappy, but 70% remains incurable. But oncologists never approve of this and they put the people to all types of tests and medicines and radiation and at last the patient dies ;loosing all his money and suffer severe pains and hardships at the oncologist's hands. Small cell carcinoma of the lungs can be ascertained only at a later stage and not curable. Then why these allopaths advise the patients about the reality? It is real dacoity, they perform. Our immune system has the power to cure us and if immunity is enhanced by any methode of treatment, under any system gives some hops to cancer sufferers, but these dacoits never allow the patients to make a move for that.

Ridiculous

Chemotherapy does not work . This is a known fact. The fact of the matter is that Chemotherapy does not work and it is a rip-off by the whole medical community. It is better to not do Chemo. So, this women are only promoting a treatment that is plagued with false information. Well, it is appropriate that they lose their hair for being so ignorant.

Dont spread lies her. Only thing that works is chemo and nothing else like homeo or ayurveda. People have lost their lived because of trying alternate therapy

Who ever mentioned about alternative therapies. All I said was Chemotherapy as a treatment is extremely ineffective. I am an oncologist and know this fact. We oncologists know the benefits of chemotherapy aren’t necessarily great and that while chemotherapy may not help nine out of ten patients, it may do wonders for the tenth. Still, considering its expense, its frequent lack of efficacy, and its toxicity, life span increase an average 2-6 months and with its brutal side effects – why is chemotherapy so widely administered? It is because, re among the highest-paid specialists contribute significantly to the bottom line of the hospitals and typically derive more income from selling and administering chemotherapy drugs. Yet, when I tell my patients with all honesty and clinical facts they continue to ignore my recommendations. But as a duty, I have to tell them. You can only handle and hear the truth only if you are open to it.

I am not an expert, I am sure every case is different. General public get their information from various sources. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh undergoing chemotherapy and playing again, is something for everyone to see.

Writing off the therapy sounds immature and unscientific when there are real examples of success.

Why are women in Chennai shaving their heads?

Sad to say, Girls are losing their originality in terms of deciding, what is good for them. It is a sort of 'Rat Race'mentality, that is guiding and motivating them to do, what other are doing, without knowing and evaluating merits of their action.

In simple terms, these new age girls, simply want to rebel, without a cause, for the misplaced anger and frustration they have towards somebody.

Well,we must appreciate the acts of these young girls and whether chemo do good or not. One of my relative,an old aged lady 72 years was dignosed of cancer and advised to go home,as the disease was in an advanced stage,by a reputed hospital in Kerala. Loosing all hopes, her son told this to his friend,a homeopath. This lady whose death was forcsted after 3 or 4 months, still lives after 5 years and that too with out much sufferings. Then can any one ridicule homeo treatment for cancer?

You are right! Maybe she would have survived for 5 years even if she had not undergone homeopathy but she has not lost anything else due to taking that treatment unlike Chemotherapy. Whether some medicine will work depends quite a bit on the faith / belief we have on it.
How can you call him ignorant? Just how much do you need about Homeopathy?
Disclaimer: I am not a homeopathic doctor, nor am I a making money out of it but I have seen it work miracles for myself!
Don't be judgemental without knowing the truth!
