one has to die one day and go one's own infinity (aka cycle of births and rebirths). no need to be happy or sad...it all ends one day including relationships...

Europe is not embracing, rather its resisting your version of truth. The fastest growing religion is only attributed to your highest birth rate across all faiths in the world and insurgencies across most of the countries which follow your cult. Due to these insurgencies, there is a huge migration to europe.
I am surprised at how some folks will take the most sublime of things and turn it into a religious football. In this story, as the author mentioned, both the individuals were strong and orthodox. Clearly, whatever they did, they did out of love. This is a pure and simple love story. Learn to appreciate it for what it is. Please keep all kinds of religious bigotry to yourself.
