I have read a few “books for Entrepreneurs” that are bandied about as “messiah for start ups” But these books don’t work in the Indian Environment. The following Tips will be better suited to the Indian environment.
1. Why it is important to spend 5 years in a company which is as close as possible to your own business idea.
2. Why you must have a reliable CA with a track record of clean dealings and Timely Submissions.
3. Why you should have a Logistics solution provider who is good at documentation with the Customs, Octroi etc.
4. Choosing the right bank for your needs and handling white income smoothly.
5. Why must you have enough space for Filing and systematic filing as Indians love documentation?
6. Why is it important to know how to train the right man for the Right job in the Right way at the right pace at the right time in his career?
7. Why is it important to know how to delegate and not micromanage?
8. Lean to monotask and chew the elephant one bite at a time.
9. Why is it important to place “step-by-Step” growth higher then “Meteorical Rise”
10. How to Inject the Right amount of capital in your business in a phased manner.
11. Dealing with Business Jargon and those who have an opinion on how you should run your own business.
12. Keeping Track of Documentation, Deadlines and importance of making a To-Do List
13. Scaling up office space in a bit by bit fashion.

one of the best practical guides on starting an IT startup is "The High Performance Entrepreneur:" by Subroto Bagchi. I highly recommend this.

Have you tried "Don't Go the Lemmings' Way!". A riveting and a wonderful read.
