and has very similar grammar to indian languages

so, for us it is easy to learn Japanese.

and yes, the Japanese people are dharmic. Good to get close, rather good to revive the historically close ties between Japan and Bharat.

(Did you know that there are ancient Saraswati temples in Japan?? Think about it.)

Japanese came from Chinese. Tamil people used to trade with China few centuries back. There is proof of that. Hence, some words in tamil and chinese are the same. Its a guess that Tamil traders took the Chinese words or maybe vice versa. Korean and Japanese script and languages derives from Chinese. Chinese people went and settled in the islands of Japan and used to be under the protectorate of the chinese emperor

please don't fall for Han propaganda (aided and abetted by the bootlicking Limeys) such as this.

In Japanese and Korean the word for 'mother' is the same as in Tamil. But not in Chinese.

This contradicts your view.

The poster has chinese characters. Japanese is derived from chinese. Its like Sanskrit vs Hindi. So please know the history before praising Japanese.

And do you know the atrocities Japanese did during world war to other east asian countries?

Japanese are hated by koreans, taiwanese and chinese for the un-imaginable crimes.

The future...
by Ravi on Dec 03, 2014 08:25 AM

The future belongs to professionals who can speak multiple foreign languages at an average level. Thats because with the internet and various social media around the world is shrinking very fast, cultures get exposed to one another more prominently and people interaction across cultures has increased drastically.

Academic qualifications will be secondary. Many of the european and asian nations have already realized it.

Hope the young minds in India realize this sooner and not bank only on their academic qualification for a career.

Both of you are m00r0ns and I hope you know it. A dead language and a language of a failed country are good subjects to fight about.

It is a wonderful language and culture compared to Chinese
by Vishnu Sharma on Dec 02, 2014 11:26 PM  | Hide replies

Chinese sounds awful on the ears and also extremely rude.

On the other hand Japanese is melodious and so very polite.

The Japanese are a very refines people with a very high sense of aesthetic.

I am one of the few Indians who is very fluent in both Japanese and German and I have also been influenced heavily by the history of these two nations. I have drawn all my inspiration from the culture of these two nations and they share a lot in common. Especially Punctuality, Commitment to Quality, neatness and aesthetics.

However Germans are a bit ruder when compared to Japanese and we Indians have more in common with the Japanese than the Germans.

There are several schools in Bangalore which teach German and Japanese and i feel youngsters need to be fluent in both the languages before they graduate out of highschool.

It will pay you back in a big way.

Vishnu,
I agree with you partially.

Japanese people are very sophisticated, polite and have a high sense of aesthetic. If you want to understand civic sense then I think Japanese people are the benchmark to follow.

But compared to Japanese language script I think Indian scripts are far far far advanced anyday.

Just like you I can speak Japanese too. But as I started learning Japanese I realized how superior and simple Indian scripts are.

for example inspite of having 14000 plus alphabets japanese script cannot differentiate between syllables "va" and "ba", "ta" and "tha", "la" and "lla".

Simply put Japanese kids invest 7 to 8 years of their academic life only to learn Japanese. By this time Indian kids already master at least 4 languages officially.

Think about it.

Indians have a golden opportunity to learn English well and prosper. Why do we have to worry about Japanese when a superb language is available. We need to spend more time on English than Japanese.

Except few nations speaking English won't help you to win big business deals in countries like China, Japan and Germany.

Even corporates like IBM had to bear heavy losses in Japan before they decided to revamp their staff into Japanese one.

Knowing English is implicit in internet age. But won't make a difference on commercial aspect.

We have to learn English first before anything else. All the text books are written in this language. Please stop this Japanese propaganda. It is a cicila nd criminal waste of time unless the person concerned is posted in Japan. Even there problems arise because it takes seven years for a person to attain the proficiency to read and understand a Japanese newspaper.

you are so brain washed when you praise japanese. These days they may pretend to be all nice cultured.

Have you seen the japanese kill dolphins and whales mercilesly.

Our culture is far away from Japanese.

Do you know why Americans nuked Japan? Because they were crazy merciless killers

I don't think you know Japanese culture.

They have no respect for animals. Just go and search Japan and dolphins and whales. The entire world wants to ban the kind of whaling that Japanese do. They lure the dolphins and whales into an area and close it. And butcher them in the sea. The entire sea turns red in color. To say that Japan and India have same culture is ridiculous.

And Japanese are famous for inventing food that are disgusting. For example, they realized that human placenta after a baby is born can be eaten. They also make the sea food fresh by dropping them in alcohol so they are not dead. They eat the animals with the heart still beating.
And there is more weirdness around their other parts of how they conduct life

Don't take my words. Please google, and use wikipedia yourself.

The whole India and Japan same culture is a artificially derived concept from politicians

Japanese do not have respect for mist of the things that we value. We do not have to kiss their hands. We are better qualified than they are. We have got out of teh shackles of the Nehru dynasty.
