Starting my bike straight to Ladakh now!
But, you never mentioned
1. What would be an approximate amount I should carry 2. How long it would take to cover the distance and the obstacles, if any. 3. Few good hotel names that stretches across the length for accommodation. 4. Local nearby police stations/hospitals for any emergencies. 5. Few more can be added, if need be.

If one is so lazy and expect ALL the info from just one rediff article, then one shd really rethink abt one's plan to go there on bike!
we completed the leh ladakh journey in less than 30000 per person a year ago including everything which i fill is very reasonable for the total of 18 days from bhavangar, gujrat to leh

No. This is one trip where u can be frugal in spending and still come back with wonderful memories. Of course, provided you are not a delicate darling and really enjoy the raw nature at its best..!!
