How can we forget his created world of Billu, Srimati ji, Pinki and Chach Chaudhary and a large number of wonderful episodes of different characters. My heartiest thanks to such great person who contributed to children entertainment and education.

Still remember school days in 1980s, when used to get punished for reading Chacha Choudhary, in class keeping the comics between the school text book. Those were the days, we really enjoyed.

Sad to lose creator of smiles
by Ashish Sharma on Aug 06, 2014 08:19 PM

Old days, when there were no computer, no playstation, no tv (as it was still considered a luxury), reading comics was a craze among children. It was indeed the most wanted gift any child would desire. I still remember how eagerly we used to wait for new editions to be released. Hidden behind all those comic characters, you were the main icon that brought smile and happiness to millions. Thank you so much for making childhood so delightful and memorable. May your soul rest in peace!!!

The writer describes so little about the master author Pran. In our childhood we have read hundreds of comics written by Pran. Of course Chacha Chowdhary was most popular, but so were his other characters like Pinki and Billu. We used to eagerly wait for his new comics in our school days and specially during the vacations. I remember, the series Chacha Chowdhary and Raka, which had become immensely popular, or rather blockbuster. In fact there was so much shortage of this series of books in the market. All these comics, specially by Pran, imbibed the values of reading in me and greatly helped improving my Hindi language. Will be deeply indebted to Pran for ever...may his soul rest in peace.
