Wrong Information

As someone who lost almost half his body weight (from 135 kg to 70 kg) with no sagging skin and preserving muscle mass, I can assure that this article is based in fitness myths instead of actual science. This is what happens when knowledge comes from interpretations of research papers by young fitness writers rather that the papers themselves.

How fast you lose your weight does NOT affect whether you'll get sagging skin or not. Low fat diet is very wrong while losing weight. Eating many small meals is also a myth. The health benefits of losing weight far overpower the bad effects of crash dieting, which are reversible when you resume normal eating.

Follow these key steps:

1) Create calorie deficit.

2) Maximum percentage of calories should come from fat. Among people who eat same amount of calories, those whose highest percentage of calories come from fat lose the most weight. People on low fat diets lose the least weight consuming the same calories. I feasted on butter, ghee, cheese etc while dieting. It keeps you satisfied on a low calorie diet. Low fat diet will make you more hungry.

3) Keep LONG gaps between meals. Apart from switching your body to fat burning mode, it ha tremendous health benefits, especially anti-ageing. My prematurely grey hair started to turn black again. Have at most two meals in a day.

4) Concentrate on strength training to preserve muscle mass rather than cardio. Cardio is great for hearth, but if your primary goal is weight loss at the moment

then concentrate on strength training.

5) Loose skin depends on your age and skin elasticity (genetics) and NOT how fast you lose weight. There is not much you can do about it. There are people who lost weight quickly and have no sagging skin while there are people who lost weight over years but still have sagging skin.

5) Have a cheat day every week or two. You can have your favourite treats on that day while also keep your metabolism boosted.

6) NOTHING you eat can "melt" your fat. Lemon, honey, garlic etc are all myths. They are good for you but don't think that they will help you lose weight.

I am in agreement that the information provided in the article is superficial and incorrect.

Eating 5/6 small meals a day may/may not help in reducing weight, it surely will make you a patient with gastric problems that no doctor will be able to cure.

So even if you end up with reduced weight, you will not enjoy the outcome and would regret the situation you are in.
