Wait a minute ... Don't go all brouhaha about "taking the breath away..." Ever since the last Tsunami [and the frequent continuing tremblors beneath the ocean] in nearby areas, Maldiv-Wasis have this hidden fear ... i.e. one strong Tsunami or quake and the ocean will take the breath[s] of the islanders away for a very long time indeed ... !

A Plaque in Juma Mosque, Mal�, Maldives, on which Yusuf Tabrizi's name is written. Yusuf Tabrizi was an Iranian who is said to have converted Maldives in 12th century AD to Islam.
