I had the chance to meet Dr Ramakant Panda in connection with a heart condition of a relative in 2002-3. He came across as a thorough gentleman - calm, polite and so reassuring. By then he was already known as the heart surgeon for "hopeless cases" all over! No airs, absolutely down to earth. He is of a rare breed. It is difficult to find such human beings. Fit for Bharat Ratna.
Its always to see a village boy scales such heights. I wish Dr. Panda much more success. Though I am not from Orissa. I request Dr.Panda not to forget his roots and do how so ever little for his state too. Its pains no to see people from Orissa lined up Hospitals in Kokatta,Delhi
Though I admire the grit , courage and hardwork of Dr Panda, there is a chance that he was a beneficiary of the reservation system. Imagine if there was a similar boy in the OC category , if he had put in the same hardwork as Dr Panda, he would still not get in AIIMS Delhi becasue OC seats are few in number ?

Get your Facts right and some basic common sense, Dumbo. He is my own Uncle and we belong to the Highest of the Brahmin Caste and would actually be the last people in India to get Reservations.
