These are real useless cards. Take for example ICICI HP card. Used to get a cashback. They have stopped it. Also they insist that petrol needs to be filled in a HP petrol station that uses ICICI swipe machine else transaction charges are levied. The truth is you will find it extremely hard to have a HP station with ICICI swipe machines. And when you are running out of petrol the last thing you look for is a petrol station that matches this criteria. Also I fail to understand why charges are levied when you use it at a petrol pump and dont have charges when I use the same in a Hyper market. The finance minister wants to make all transactions transparent, but businesses dont want to encourage this. even in small stores they charge 2.5% commision for using a card. does not make sense.

Yeah, they send IT notices to people who use the Card for more than Rs. 2 Lakhs. It kills the transparency and encourages people to have more than one card. More card transactions should be encouraged and POS should be free of any charges.
