Only few years ago, IITs were touted as more difficult to get into than MITs and Cornell. Now, none of the IITs rank among the best 200? Two words: nepotism and reservations. These things are destroying Indian education system. Dr. Khorana tried to get a job in India before he won the Nobel, but could not. This is the problem why India is not progressing- and not a single gold medal in olympics, no decent scientists in India. This is the result of 60 years of corrupt looting rule by congress.
Indian Universitues are Zero and IITs are failed! Thanks to Academic Administrator and Big Professors of indian repute. Thanks to Bhatnagar Awards and Padam Sri

What is ironic about that? Universities in India don't really do much research. That's one of the biggest problems.
On the bright side, lot of these top 20 or 200 universities have disproportionate number of desis as students and faculty. So we are still doing very well.
