skipping break fast
by Gopal Subramanian on Sep 14, 2013 11:39 PM

break fast is the most important meal. skipping the same is bad and leads to adverse impact on one body metabolism and also lowers the glucose present in one's body. As i am employed in middle east and offices starts very early here compared to india, i too have become a victim of skipping the same as I start the day early and finish a little late. However i am lucky as in case i miss the same, i tell my wife to pack up and eat a bit later with tea in office.

The general observation is that significant% of obese people have less b'fast or skip altogether. It is debatable whether skipping B'fast will lead to obesity. However,it may contribute indirectly to weight gain due to body's response mechanism to starving . A good b'fast is essential and infact it should be heavy . If heavy b'fast leads to lethargy, it means the sleeping pattern is wrong.(late night/little sleep/disturbed sleep etc...) bcos usually after good sleep the next 6-8 hours are always very fresh irrespective of eating or not. That is why the most productive/efficient - hours for humans are between 6/7am to 2 pm . The above findings from any other agency may also be nearly same.

breakfast time

The employers should consider the importance of human life. They should not treat them like machines for making more profits. 5 days a week should be compulsory for all private and public sector employees. At least they have two full day to cook for themselves and there children.

Technical aspect
by True Voice on Sep 10, 2013 12:26 PM

The article should have brought the technical aspect. When you starve for more than 12 hrs, the metabolism "thinks" that you are undergoing famine. This is an effect our body was going through for years because the humanity had undergone such situation for thousands of years. Thus the metabolism commands the body to store energy from the next immediate meal sothat you are protected from next long time starving. Such storage of energy in the form of fat makes the person obese over a period of time

I've been skipping breakfasts since the past 6 years almost..nothing to be proud of, I don't recommend it at all..And Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day..but to say that skipping it leads to weight gain is rubbish..I keep hovering around being under weight to just normal..my other meals are just fine..I'm 25..

Normal people when they skip b/fast, the gap between last dinner and next lunch will be 16-17 hours. You tend to over eat at that time. Also an empty stomach for such a long period will not be comfortable in the long run. Ideally, small quantities of food spread over the day time will be much better.

Dont blame kellogs. The body has a mechanism to store fat for the future if it feels that you are starving or you are going through famine. This process makes a person fat over a period of time
