fasting on karva Chauth by women or men both is the biggest stupidity.
Ladies will be struggling full day due hunger and thirst and then wear all gaudy jewellery in the evening and show off.
Its total non sense.
There is no proven story in any mythological books so far.
Its a FASHION.Bollywood style.

Like people not crazy during Ramjaan...Eat fully well before Morning so that they will not feel hungry till evening..But in this case, people have to fast for almost 24 hours...

Of course our cultural heritage has all the cards stacked against the women.Men do not have to show any such " love "or "respect " by going hungry.

I think some people will let no opportunity go for male-bashing. Did you even read the title of the article, and what was written?

First such practices are centuries old, when MEN never risk their women folk's lives but sacrifice their lives to save not only their wives but the entire womenfolk of their country. So there is no surprise , women have shown their love in this way in the olden days. With little modification even today it can be done by both men and women. No point in ridiculing an age old practice.

MEN TOIL FOR THEIR WOMEN
by Ramaswamy on Oct 22, 2013 01:23 PM

In olden days Men only toiled for their women , sacrificed even their lives to protect their women and children. So women fold have done such noble act.

Now, wherever women toils and support their husbands, surely such men would come forward to do the same noble act for their women.

Dont worry, this country has seen so many such alien provacators to spoil the harmony of Indian family oriented systems for centuries and it still survives. We need not worry about these Harnur channis - tiwary etc.. They will always glorify alien things and de glorify our own Indian customs.

Karva Chauth is another proof of women's inferior status in our country. Why are girls made to do some vrats for getting good husbands in the future and then is made to do these vrats for safety of their husbands? I guess why boys and men are not supposed to do same vrats for their wives' safety

Power of a virtueous wife
by palanki narayana on Oct 22, 2013 10:46 AM  | Hide replies

Five years ago an astrologer of Madhya Pradesh announced the date and time of his own death. On the appointed day, news reporters and TV cameramen gathered at his house to record his imminent departure. While the man awaited his date with death in serene anticipation, his wife calmly went about her kitchen duties. The fateful hour came and went uneventfully. The astrologer (who is still happily with us) explained that his wife performs Karwa Chauth every year which must have given her the power to turn back the Yamadoots.

he was not an astrologer and it was media hype to give him so much recognition. time and date of death is only thing which can't be predicted by palmistry or horoscope but it can be predicted only by the forehead lines.
so it was only a fame-game and media become victim of it due to trp race.
