Please don't mistake anthropology with archeology (Indian Jones profession)!
Theoretical Anthropology is very boring and has very bad career prospects in terms of the highest salary you can get in this field!
But the choice to pursue this discipline is all yours!
If you like getting paid in peanuts and spending endless boring hours in the library looking up useless details of various cultures and natural history, then go ahead knock yourself out!
Applied Anthropology has some very interesting prospects in the business world especially in Marketing but they are not explored or exploited by the lazy, diffident academic anthropologists who teach in this field!
Bottom line is that if you don't want to end up being a pathetic professor with a hand-to-mouth existence, avoid this field like plague!
