and a truly different (in several ways) experience, tourists ought to flock to places such as the Sangam in Varanasi (during the Kumbh Mela) or the Sabarimala Sannidhanam in Kerala during season.

They will get to see the distinct colour of human excreta dominating the landscape like nowhere else on the planet!

Actually it not I who is into the colour of human excreta so much. If I had been so, then the fact that excreta is so much on public display in India would not have mattered much to me.

But the great majority of the Indian population is truly into human excreta so much and they have all become so accustomed and acclimatised to it that the fact that 2/3rds of all Indians defecate in the open each day does not matter in the least to them!

And to top that up, middle class Indians - who imagine that they are upwardly mobile are willing to fool themselves about the bull on India developing fast despite the above fact!

The writer has not seen Goa or Rajasthan

The writer has not scene Goa or Rajasthan in India, otherwise he would not have excluded them. There is no more vibrant or colorful place than these two.

Hi Jugal,
I am in telecom Industry and I have travelled many places in India , including Vibrant places like Rajasthan, punjab and Goa.

ANd I have also been to Isola di Burano.
Let me tell you dear Isola di Burano is totally different , it is very beautiful city soaked in different bright colors. Actually it is a small Island little far from Venice. And the experience is totally different and awesome. You just cant compare it with Jaipur/Jodhpur.
