most of the private colleges are owned by Netas or their relatives, I don't understand how or why Rs.3500 crores of taxpayers money was siphoned off to fund education of ineligible candidates just to suit their whim of a degree when they cannot/will not be employed because they aren't competent enough. A welfare state will never succeed in a competitive world. Never. Rs.3500 crores per annum could have been spent on imparting skills to these same candidates.. who could at least find some kind of employment, be it as skilled carpenters, designers, fitters, machinists, electricians. Our politicians ensure no such industry is set up in the country and we remain importers for the rest of our lives. We cannot be a service providing nation till eternity.
Tech schools should be centres of excellence. Right now they are only unofficial training institutes for the IT service industry, which need only mediocre candidates.
Curriculum need to be changed,as i see now a days enough emphasis is missing in Basic sciences, humanities,Economics and Psychology. The Engg institutes are functioning like grinding units rather good knowledge centers.Training in Man,Machinery and Material is important, but now Man is missing. Engg graduate need to be trained in such a way that he should be able to penetrate in any area of work without inhibition. It would be better that a technical committee take up a survey in well reputed international institutes.
