being factored in for IIT admissions from this year, the proportion of girls gaining admission for graduate courses at the IITs is set to increase substantially!
Girls have generally equalled or outperformed boys in all board exams and in most entrance tests in the country. But there are two entrance tests in which the proportion of girls gaining admission have always been far far less than the proportion of girls taking the tests. These are the JEE for entrance to the IIT graduate courses and the CAT for admission to the IIM PGDM programs.
With the consideration of board exam performance from this year, the anomaly is set to be corrected at least for admission to the IITs!
